  3. Another year is over, and I am looking back at my 10 best shoots from 2012. This list doesn’t include any of the fine art work, I will make a separate list for that stuff soon.

    6.  Look 5 for Sakhuja F/W 2012 was so sexy that I had to give it a stand alone post.  The theme was supposed to be resistance/anger and I shot with Oumid Yaqo and the stunning Ashley Hassard at Toronto’s famous Don Valley Brickworks.  These two models got along great during the shoot, in between takes they encouraged each other and were joking around.  Their excellent chemistry translated to some beautiful photo’s.

  6. Weekly hottness.

I haven’t posted one on a month, so here’s a whole lot of weekly hottness.  This is a video for a song by Maxwell, who sings babymaking music.  It’s from a movie called The Best Man.  I saw this music video in university and was hypnotized.  The freeze/3D effect is still my favourite thing in this video, aside from all that beautiful, delicious chocolate and caramel.  Specifically, the girl all over Morris Chesnut in the black bikini top and long feather dress…you’ll see.

  9. so American Horror Story is over for the season….haven’t seen the final episode but can we take time to reflect on one of the best scenes from season 1.  I am talking about our favourite slutty maid, young Moira getting it on with The Black Dahlia (Mena Suvari) in the murder house…I hope there is more Moira in season 2!

Lindsay Lohan….. Im actually impressed. Its probably the classiest thing she’s done in a while…. she looks like Marilyn Monroe and Anna Nicole Smith. Hmmm hinting at her future are we?

  11. Probably one of the sexiest and most unexpected characters on TV right now.  You should see the rest of that outfit and what she does with it on a regular basis.  Last weeks episode took it to a whole new level.  i love this show and Moira Jr is a big part of that.  It’s genius to have her prancing around the house in what is basically fetish gear, all she is missing is a french accent and it would be a sterotypical sex fantasy come true.

  12. I haven’t posted a weekly hottness in almost 2 weeks.  To make it up to you this week I will do something different from the usual photoset.  You get the weekly hottness in the form of a SEXY movie scene.

The embedded video is one of the greatest scenes in film ever!  I saw From Dusk Till Dawn as a young teenager with no clue as to what the movie was about.  All I knew was the Quentin Tarantino was involved and I had just seen Pulp Fiction so I was trying to catch anything he was invovled with.  I also had a massive crush on Salma Hayek (I had seen Desperado just weeks before I saw this) so needless to say this movie was awesome to a budding film buff.

Salma is literally in the movie for about 7-10 minutes, but this scene comes at a pivitol moment in the film, when it turns from a profane heist flick to a campy vampire movie.  This 4.5 minutes of celluloid will forever remain etched in my memory.  It’s perfectly constructed; the sets, the seductive song, that lucky snake and most of all Salma’s natural sexiness in a perfect table dance that will forever remain my favourite scene in Hollywood cinema.

  13. In 2005 I picked this book up and fell in love with reading again.

I had been raised to read alot, fiction or non fiction, it didn’t matter.  I read before going to bed all the way up to university.  Then I stopped, I just couldn’t find anything that held my interest.  Until I began reading Chuck.  By the time Haunted had released, he was already established, so I was late to the game.  I found out later that one of my favourite movies, Fight Club, was actually based on a novel by him (I now realize that it is clearly stated in the opening credits of the movie).  What drew me to the book was the cover, so I sat at the store and decided to skim.

I realized that it was built as an anthology of twisted, dark, macabre stories all wrapped around a central mystery.  Brendan Whittier has gathered a group of people to join him at an exclusive writer’s retreat.  As they make their way to this retreat, and what happens over the course of the retreat is interspersed with stories recited by each character in the book.  Each story actually gives insight into each characters morbid past.

An abnormally skinny man who lost part of his lower intestine in a masturbation accident

A reporter who murders a former child star in order to frame him for collecting child pornography, so that he can write a Pulitzer Prize winning article about it.

A member of the Chewlah, a tribe of people who are, according to local rumor, able to transform into Sasquatches.

A former employee of the White River Lodge who lost her lips to frostbite while trying to save someone from an accident at the hot springs nearby.  These are a few of many characters.  The stories get crazier as the main mystery surrounding the writers retreat comes to a conclusion.

When I finished this book, I immediately went out and bought every work he had written.  His style of writing is so in your face and distgusting, but it feels almost conversational.  His themes are universal, even if his characters are usuallly sitting at the bottom rung of the moral ladder.  This is not for everyone, I have tried to get people to read Chuck, many cannot get past his need to shock, it’s a turn off and often offensive.  I always recommend “Haunted” to test first time readers.  The threshold is early in the book, a story called “Guts”, if you can handle that story, you can handle Haunted and you can handle Chuck.

He made me love to read again

  14. For those of you haven’t begun listening to The Weeknd since my last post, here is some audio/visual motivation.

    Get on it now!
